KM Medway Concert Brass win SCABA Spring Contest

The KM Medway Concert Brass built on success achieved last autumn by winning at their most recent competitive outing, the SCABA Spring Contest at Hove on Sunday 24th April.

Not only did the Band, pictured here just after playing at the contest, under the baton of Musical Director Garrie Harvey, win the best overall prize for the Third Section competition, they also scooped the best Horn section category and the prize for the best conductor.

The contest, organised by the Southern Counties Amateur Brass Band Association, is open to brass bands from across the south of England. As well as an own choice test piece, the bands have to play a march. KM Medway Concert Brass’ winning choice was Edward Gregson’s “Divertimento”.
